After wrecking some sh*t in his giant truck, getting arrested, then bailed out (by Dana White), claiming that he was God and being admitted to a hospital for observation, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is apparently back to what equates to normal.
He was seen walking around Minneapolis during the pre-fight preparations for UFC 87, accompanied by Dana White, and he spoke at a press conference for the event.
Apparently Dana is Quinton’s new security, at least until the UFC can be sure that he’s not the crazy dude he was acting like a few weeks ago. Jackson can be seen in several of Dana White’s UFC 87 video blogs.
Everyone at COED is pleased to hear that ‘Page is healthy both mentally and physically, but his time in the spotlight of bad fortune may not be over just yet. Apparently when Rampage went on his, well, rampage, he may or may not have caused the miscarriage of a Huntington Beach, CA resident’s unborn child. (Whoops!)
White acknowledged, however, that Rampage still has some legal issues to deal with. In a Newport Beach Daily Pilot report the day after the car chase, a California Highway Patrol officer said Jackson had sideswiped a Cadillac Escalade driven by 38-year-old Holli Griggs of Huntington Beach, Calif.
Griggs told the newspaper that she and her unborn baby of 16 weeks were injured, but she was not sure how badly. She has since miscarried, her fiancé told the Daily Pilot, though no action has been filed yet. (Sherdog.com)
Dana White has already let his opinion be known, saying the case is an attempt to get money out of the former champion and will go away. Rumors abound of a Wanderlei Silva v. Jackson fight mid fall. White may be getting both ahead of himself and over his head in this one. Incidents like this, speculative as they may be, are never a laughing matter.
