This Is The Bridge That Aussie Bungee Jumper Almost Died On [VIDEO]

If you haven’t seen it already, footage was recently released of an Australian woman who went bungee jumping off of the Victoria Falls bridge. Why is this video worth watching? Because the cord snapped, sending 22-year-old Erin Langworthy into a 200 meter free-fall. Once she belly-flopped into the water, she had to swim to the side while she still had her feet wrapped together. “It was quite scary because a couple of times the rope actually got caught on some rocks or debris,” she said. “I actually had to swim down and yank the bungee cord out of whatever it was caught on to make it to the surface.1

I’ve actually been to Victoria Falls and gone rafting down the Zambezi river, the same river she fell into. Are there crocodiles in the river? Absolutely, but they’re farther downstream – no crocodile wants to go white water rafting on their bellies. Serious kudos to the girl for actually surviving, that river’s moving water is very serious business.

It really sucks that this happened because A) she could have died and B) the people of Victoria Falls do whatever they can to make sure that tourists feel safe there. It’s like the one place in the whole f*cking country that visitors can go without being left in a roadside ditch and it’s easily one of the top 20 most beautiful places to go visit in the entire world. If you find yourself in Vic Falls and don’t want to bungee jump anymore, try the giant swing that hangs over the gorge. Honestly, it’s much scarier. I’m not even going to suggest rafting down the Zambezi because it’s understood that you should be going.
