In terms of sexy sports news, 2013 started out with a bang when Brent Musberger formally introduced Katherine Webb to the world. The world of college football hasn’t been the same since. But college pigskin isn’t the only sport that 2013 redefined–surfers started popping up in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, female MMA fighters started to steal the show, and people began talking about Paulina Gretzky (oh wait, that was last year.)
Truthfully, looking back at some of these stories is an example of how quickly time goes by. To think that almost eleven months ago we weren’t sure if Kate Upton would land the cover of the SI Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (how foolish are we?) is mind-boggling. But now we’re wiser (we think).
And the purpose of reading these posts isn’t so much to catch up on news as it is to remember exactly how much great stuff happened in 2013. And to look forward to what kinds of stuff we’ll see in 2014.
