Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom played for twenty seasons in the NHL–winning four Stanley Cups, seven James Norris Memorial Trophies, and twelve elections to the NHL All-Star Game. He also scored the shot that won Sweden the gold medal in the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Such feats (among others) long ago earned Lidstrom the nicknames Mr. Perfect and The Perfect Human, but those terms of endearment might not have ever completely fit—until now. As of this week, Lidstrom will officially be joining the ranks of Bruce Jenner, Toucan Sam, Dig’em, and Urkel (among others) by appearing as the main box image on his own signature breakfast cereal. Now that’s how we define Mr. Perfect.

Lidstrom’s morning treat is called Detroit Hockey HerOes, a product created by the company PLB Sports. It consists of honey nut toasted oats shaped like pucks with holes in the middle. The Detroit Hockey HerOes box depicts an action shot of Lidstrom in full gear on the front, with stats and career milestones listed on the side.
“We believe Nick embodies why the Red Wings have had historical success,” said PLB Sports president Ty Ballou. “Extremely high-character person. His skills on the ice may not be perfect … but they are as close as it gets.”
That admiration and affection must be similar to how General Mills has always felt about the skipper of the SS Guppy, Captain Horatio Magellan Crunch.
