Jen Welter Becomes First Female Running Back To Play In A Professional Football Game
Prior to Saturday, the only women who have played professional football have been kickers or placekick-holders. According to our friends over at Extra Mustard, Jen Welter suited up as a running back for the Texas Revolution, a team in the 8-on-8 Indoor Football League. Here’s the impressive part: Welter is 5’2″ and weighs in at 130 pounds, which is small for any football player, regardless of sex. After being tackled, Welter didn’t want the other team to think she was intimidated so she said, “Is that all you got?” What a badass.
