NFL Suspends Fred Davis Indefinitely

Fred Davis finally got his chance to be the starting tight end of the Washington Redskins a couple years ago. That position is now in jeopardy as Davis was suspended by the NFL indefinitely on Wednesday for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. There will be some point where players finally learn that they can get caught for doing things they shouldn’t.
Davis was suspended four games before for marijuana use. This latest issue comes with him now a free agent and it is possible that very few teams are going to want to take a chance on him worried that Davis never gets a chance to play again. This is obviously a situation that Davis should have done everything he could have to avoid.
Who knows how long Davis will be suspended. Former teammate Tanard Jackson was suspended indefinitely in 2012 and hasn’t been reinstated yet. It could be a year, could be two years and could be worse depending on what Davis does in the meantime. It’s time for Davis to get his life together.
