EA Sports' "UFC" Game Will Have Bruce Frickin' Lee [VIDEO]

If you look through the roster of fighters for EA Sports’s first UFC approved game, an interesting name is bound to jump out at you: Bruce Lee.
The father of modern martial arts will be one of the featured fighters as part of a special pre-order promotion for the game’s official release on June 17th–according to an EA press release. Those who pre-order the game will automatically have access to the iconic kung-fu film star on their roster from the minute they start playing the game. The rest of us will have to complete the game on the “pro” difficulty mode in order to unlock Lee as a playable fighter. EA’s latest trailer for the game unleashed a short teaser shot of Lee in the Octagon to whet your appetite for lighting fast, hand-t0-hand violence.

This feels like something that should have happened way back when the close-to-defunct THQ was cranking out UFC games before EA got their grubby mitts on the franchise. He’s the ultimate mixed martial arts fighter and video games are the closest way we have to bringing the man’s legendary fighting skills back to life since his untimely passing in 1973. We’d have a hard time finding a martial arts fanatic who wouldn’t want the chance to step into the Octagon with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Randy Couture and Frank Mir and see who is able to walk out of it again on their own two feet. Could it be that video game companies are actually (gasp!) listening to the fans for a change?
