Albert Pujols Hits 500th Career Home Run [VIDEO]

The career of Albert Pujols had him on a pace to become one of the greatest home run hitters in Major League Baseball history. After two bad seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, Pujols appears to be back on track as he hit his 500th career home run Tuesday night during a 7-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Pujols had earlier connected on his 499th career homer. At just 34 years and 96 days, he became the third-youngest ever to the 500 home run mark.
He may have got there faster without the recent injuries but he is one of the few players around the league that pitchers have feared from day one of his career. He looks like the old Pujols from his days with the St. Louis Cardinals now this season and is now the 26th player to reach the 500 home run mark.
Pujols could be on his way to a huge season if he can remain healthy and continues to hit the ball as hard as he has been so far. It is quite the accomplishment and one that all baseball fans should celebrate.
