Young Comedians Twitter Over The Passing Of Robin Williams

Robin Williams RIP

The sudden passing of actor/comedian Robin Williams seemed to send a shockwave across the Internet. He always seemed so full of energy and pure joy whenever he jumped on to a stage or in front of a camera. Besides his family and close friends, none were more shocked by the news than his fellow comedians. Several of today’s younger generation of comics who grew up listening to his stand-up and watching his movies took to Twitter to express their sadness about his untimely passing. A bunch of personal photos of Williams hanging out at comedy clubs and comedy shows popped up on Twitter in the wake of Williams’ passing. Chelsea Peretti posted a photo featuring Williams “being nice to a bunch of excited comedians.”

Amy Schumer, stand-up and star of the Comedy Central sketch show Insider Amy Schumer, recalled several close encounters with the late comedian on her Twitter feed.

Kumail Nanjiani posted several Tweets on his account detailing the time that Williams stopped by his weekly show at The Meltdown.

Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, better known as the comedy duo Broad City, posted a tribute on their joint Twitter feed.

Hannibal Buress recalled the time that he met Williams and put him on a stage.

Moshe Kasher probably summed up all of the stand-up comedians’ tribute to Williams the best with his Tweet.
